Saudi Arabia's First Luxury Train Unveiled

Saudi Arabia is launching the Center East’s first luxurious prepare, the ‘Dream of the Desert’. Saudi Arabia’s “Dream of the Desert” luxurious prepare will start its inaugural journey by the top of 2026, traversing the nation’s gorgeous desert landscapes.

The 1,300-kilometer route, utilising current railway traces, will depart from Riyadh and journey north to Al Qurayyat, close to the Jordanian border.  The one- to two-day journey will showcase breathtaking surroundings throughout Al Qassim, Hail, and Al Jouf, together with a stretch bordering the King Salman bin Abdulaziz Nature Reserve, Conde Nast Traveller reported.

Produced by the Italian hospitality firm Arsenale Group and commissioned by Saudi Arabia Railways (SAR), Dream of the Desert will function 14 carriages housing 34 luxurious suites. The primary glimpse of its interiors, crafted by Lebanese architect Aline Asmar d’Amman, reveals opulent gold-adorned ceilings, tile-fronted bars, plush velvet banquettes, and components reflecting Saudi traditions. Reception areas draw inspiration from majlis settings, showcasing intricately carved wooden and desert-toned hues.

H.E. Eng. Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser, Saudi Minister of Transport and Logistics Providers and Chairman of SAR, emphasised the strategic significance of the mission: “The Nationwide Transport and Logistics Technique goals to develop an built-in transport community that strengthens Saudi Arabia’s place as a worldwide logistics hub. The Dream of the Desert prepare is a testomony to our dedication to this imaginative and prescient, delivering progressive options that elevate each the transport and tourism sectors. This mission displays the Kingdom’s bold drive to develop world-class infrastructure whereas providing unparalleled journey experiences that reinforce Saudi Arabia’s standing as a premier international tourism vacation spot. The prepare combines luxurious, innovation, and cultural authenticity, setting a brand new customary in rail journey.”
