Turkish, Saudi state railways ink deal on co-op, repair, consultancy

Türkiye’s State Railways (TCDD) and Saudi State Railways (SAR) inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on Monday for railway upkeep and restore, infrastructure improvement, site visitors administration and capability allocation, and coaching and consultancy, Turkish authorities stated.

The deal was signed in Saudi Arabia throughout conferences held with delegations led by TCDD Director Common Veysi Kurt and SAR Common Supervisor Bashar bin Khalid Al Malik, the Transport and Infrastructure Ministry wrote on Turkish social media platform NSosyal.

“The assembly addressed long-term cooperation alternatives within the areas of railway upkeep and restore, infrastructure improvement, site visitors administration and capability allocation, coaching and consultancy,” it stated.

On the conclusion of the conferences, a “Memorandum of Understanding on the Growth of Cooperation within the Railway Sector” was signed between the 2 state railways.

“With this cooperation, the TCDD goals to strengthen its sturdy partnership within the worldwide railway community and additional consolidate Türkiye’s main place in world transportation corridors,” it added.

Türkiye has just lately been increasing its railway cooperation community within the Arab world. The transport ministers of Türkiye, Syria and Jordan have agreed to revive the Hejaz Railway, marking a historic step in regional transportation, in accordance with Transport Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu.
