A Nice Gael Deputy has mentioned Irish Rail should clarify severe points surrounding new rail timetables.

Nice Gael Normal Election Candidate for Fingal East and Chairperson of the Oireachtas Transport Committee, Deputy Alan Farrell, mentioned adjustments made to the timetable have triggered main points for commuters with delays and overcrowding.

“The introduction of a brand new timetable for a number of providers across the nation in late August has resulted in weeks of delays and inconvenience to the travelling public,” he mentioned.

“As a commuter myself and from talking to others who repeatedly take the prepare, it’s clear there’s a major problem with the brand new timetable over the previous few weeks.

“I’ve written to the Committee to request {that a} public listening to happen between members of the Oireachtas and Irish Rail.”
