Etihad Rail, the developer and operator of the United Arab Emirates’ nationwide railway community, confirmed it’s on track to start passenger transport companies by 2026, consistent with the UAE’s imaginative and prescient for an built-in, secure, and environment friendly rail system, state information company WAM reported.

Azza Alsuwaidi, Deputy CEO of Etihad Rail Mobility, stated the challenge will join 11 cities and areas throughout the nation — from Al Sila within the west to Fujairah within the east — through Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ruwais, and Al Dhaid.

She emphasised that the service will mix consolation, reliability, and affordability, supported by a “digital tickets first” system and absolutely segregated tracks to boost security.

Journey instances are set to dramatically enhance, with journeys taking 57 minutes from Abu Dhabi to Dubai, 70 minutes to Ruwais, and 105 minutes to Fujairah.

Every prepare will accommodate as much as 400 passengers, providing a number of every day journeys with devoted areas for work, studying, and leisure.

Alsuwaidi harassed that station planning is central to constructing an accessible community, supported by built-in first- and last-mile options in cooperation with native transport suppliers, municipalities, and know-how platforms.

She additionally highlighted plans for a high-speed rail line linking Abu Dhabi and Dubai at speeds of as much as 350 km/h, slicing journey between the 2 cities to only half-hour.
