Mashaer Metro serves 1.87 million passengers during Hajj

The Saudi Arabia Railways (SAR) transported approximately 1.87 million passengers, including pilgrims and Hajj officials, with operating 2,154 trips during the Hajj 2025.

MAKKAH — The Saudi Arabia Railways (SAR) transported roughly 1.87 million passengers, together with pilgrims and Hajj officers, with working 2,154 journeys throughout the Hajj 2025. The SAR operated Mashaer Metro Prepare between the stations of Mina, Muzdalifah, and Arafat throughout the interval from Dhul Hijjah 7 till the top of the Days of Tashreeq (Dhul Hijjah 13).

The operational plan for the Mashaer Metro Prepare throughout the Hajj season included 5 essential phases. The primary section, from Dhu Al-Hijjah 7 to eight, transported over 27,000 passengers throughout all stations. The second section carried 282,000 pilgrims from Mina to Arafat, adopted by the third section, which transported 294,000 pilgrims from Arafat to Muzdalifah.

Within the fourth section, greater than 349,000 pilgrims had been transported from Muzdalifah to Mina. The ultimate section, which lasted till sundown on the final day of Tashreeq, recorded the motion of over 920,000 passengers to and from Mina 3 (Jamarat) station.

CEO of SAR Dr. Bashar Al-Malik expressed appreciation for the help and empowerment of the Saudi management, which contributed to the combination of efforts and companies provided to pilgrims, together with transportation by way of the Mashaer Metro Prepare. He famous that the profitable completion of the operational plan displays the efforts of SAR staff and the efficient coordination with operational and safety businesses, supported by intensive preparatory work, together with simulation workouts and full-scale trial runs, guaranteeing the very best ranges of readiness and security.
