Saudi Arabia: Alstom to Enhance Reliability of East-West Freight Corridor

Alstom extends partnership with Saudi Railway Company

Alstom has secured a five-year Technical Assist and Spare Half Provide Settlement (TSSSA) with Saudi Railway Firm (SAR) to boost the effectivity and reliability of diesel locomotives working on Saudi Arabia’s east-west freight hall.

The 300 million SAR contract was introduced on the Saudi Rail Exhibition. It includes technical help, spare components provide, and coaching for SAR workers.

As a part of this contract, Alstom will implement its HealthHub expertise to allow real-time locomotive monitoring and predictive upkeep, minimising downtime and optimising fleet availability. This digital answer is anticipated to make sure the long-term operational efficiency of locomotives connecting key ports like Dammam and Jubail with the Riyadh dry port, facilitating the graceful circulation of products throughout the area.

Aligned with Saudi Imaginative and prescient 2030, the partnership promotes a sustainable and environment friendly transport sector whereas investing within the growth of native expertise.

Mohamed Khalil, Alstom’s Managing Director of Center East Regional Headquarters stated:

“This settlement is a testomony to our shared imaginative and prescient with SAR of advancing Saudi Arabia’s transportation ecosystem in alignment with Imaginative and prescient 2030. By empowering SAR with cutting-edge applied sciences and data switch, we’re fostering a aggressive and sustainable sector whereas enriching native expertise and experience throughout the Kingdom’s railway business. This collaboration will present SAR’s engineers and technicians with invaluable hands-on expertise, bolstering their capabilities and solidifying their important function within the Kingdom’s formidable development plans.”
