The Saudi Railways Firm (SAR) will unveil a groundbreaking localization program through the inaugural Saudi Worldwide Railways Convention in Riyadh on November 20-21, beneath the patronage of Minister of Transport and Logistics and SAR Chairman Eng. Saleh Al-Jasser.

The convention goals to highlight the most recent improvements and developments within the world and native railway sectors.

Dr. Bashar Al-Malik, CEO of SAR, introduced that this system will concentrate on advancing Saudi Arabia’s railway trade by fostering native partnerships, supporting small and medium enterprises (SMEs), and inspiring personal sector participation.

The initiative aligns with the objectives of Imaginative and prescient 2030, aiming to ascertain factories throughout the Kingdom, localize providers, and switch experience from main worldwide railway firms.

Al-Malik highlighted SAR’s latest achievements, together with surpassing a 50% native spending fee in 2023, with aspirations to extend it to 60% by 2025. He famous that these efforts have created over 10,000 direct and oblique jobs, attaining a job localization fee of 88%.

Saudi Arabia has been on the forefront of sustainable rail options, introducing the Haramain Excessive-Pace Practice, the area’s first quick electrical practice with zero carbon emissions.

SAR has additionally performed hydrogen practice trials, a primary within the Center East and Africa, as a part of its dedication to the Saudi Inexperienced Initiative.

These developments contribute to lowering carbon emissions, enhancing visitors security, and defending highway infrastructure by reducing heavy car utilization.

Dr. Al-Malik emphasised the strategic significance of railways in world logistics. He highlighted their function in guaranteeing clean commerce circulation, notably amid geopolitical challenges.

The railway community, linking key ports in Dammam and Jubail to Riyadh’s dry port, has enabled the environment friendly transportation of products redirected to the Pink Sea ports.
