Prequalification bids submitted to construct new line between Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

ETIHAD Rail is contemplating prequalification bids to design and construct the primary section of a high-speed community within the United Arab Emirates (UAE). A 150km line will hyperlink Abu Dhabi with Dubai.

Additional improvement of the community will embrace as much as 10 stations in Abu Dhabi and new strains between Abu Dhabi and Al-Ain and Dubai and Sharjah. Trains are anticipated to function on the brand new strains at as much as 320km/h. The community will embrace 31km of tunnels.

The primary section is scheduled to open in 2030, with stations at Abu Dhabi Al-Zahiyah, Saadiyat Island, Yas Island, Abu Dhabi Airport, and Dubai Al-Jaddaf. The brand new line will embrace underground, elevated and at-grade sections, and supply a journey time of half-hour between Abu Dhabi and Dubai. The probably price of the high-speed community has not been disclosed.

Preliminary floor testing for the primary section has begun, with Matcon Testing Laboratory in Dubai and Engineering & Analysis Worldwide from Abu Dhabi investigating the terrain and soil situations alongside the proposed route, along with engineering consultants Sener and Ineco.

Etihad Rail at present operates freight trains on the standard rail community within the UAE, totalling 1200km.
