Bahrain metro prequalification phase attracts 11 bidders

BAHRAIN’s Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications (MTT) has obtained purposes from 11 bidders to prequalify for the contract to construct section one of many Bahrain metro.

MTT plans to construct a fully-automated 109km elevated metro in 4 levels, with the primary stage comprising two traces with a complete size of 29km and 20 stations, together with two interchanges. The contract will run for round 35 years.

The federal government of Bahrain permitted the venture in October 2021 following market session in March 2021, which obtained a optimistic response from the non-public sector. The road is predicted to initially carry 200,000 passengers a day, with this anticipated to extend as passengers swap from non-public automobiles.
